Who we are
Mission Street Church seeks to be radically devoted to Jesus, each other, and the world around us. Mission Street Church is part of the Christian religion, the Reformed theological tradition, the Evangelical movement and the Presbyterian Church USA.
We believe the the Old and New Testament are given by divine inspiration and that they are the written Word of God. We believe that the Old and New Testament should be interpreted according to their context and purpose, in obedience to the Lord, who speaks through scripture as a living witness still today.
We believe in the Triune God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the Supremacy of God the Father, who created all things seen and unseen through Jesus Christ.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, only begotten Son of the invisible God, firstborn over all creation, fully God and fully man, head of the church, author and finisher of our faith; His death for our sins; His resurrection and eventual return.
We believe in the regenerative power of the Holy Spirit; whose fruit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
As part of the Presbyterian tradition, we have a 400 year old form of government that provides order in the church and accountability to its leaders. Our elders will be made up of men and women who are active members of the church. They will be persons of faith and integrity both in the church and in the community. They make up the churches governing body, called the session, and together oversee and assist the pastors and all ministries of the church.
Mission Street Church supports the Fellowship Community in the PC(USA).
